The purpose of basic design is to develop the project in order to achieve approvals from the classification society/flag state. Final CFD and structural optimization of the vessel performance is carried out during the basic design stage after determination of manufacturers for the main systems. According to customer needs,  in addition to CFD calculations, the effective 3D model can be analysed in ship model basin. The basic design is finished after the classification societiy’s approvals. In this period, 3D structural model is developed in line with classification approvals and allows to have a head start with the detailed design phase.
